How To Remove The Search Bar From Most Browsers

Posted on 03:59 by Unknown
A search box can be defined as a software tool that is used in computer programs such as web browsers. The Search boxes on web pages are usually used to allow users to enter a query to be submitted to a Web search engine, where an index database is queried for entries that contain one or more of the user's keywords. Google and Yahoo! are some of the popular search bars. The main advantage of having a search bar is that once the user installs a search bar, he or she can search for content more easily, without navigating back to the search bar's home page. However, many search boxes present enable you to find the required results.

You can follow the below-mentioned instructions to remove toolbar from the browsers.

From Internet Explorer

  • In the first step, click the Windows Start button, followed by the Control Panel.
  • If you are using Windows Vista or 7, you can launch the installed programs window by clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features. However, if you are using Windows XP, you can launch the same window by double-clicking Add or Remove Programs.
  • Once you launch the programs, simply scroll through the programs window, and click the search bar that you want to uninstall. For example, click Google or Yahoo! search bars.
  • In the next step, click the Remove/Uninstall option, followed by Yes or OK to confirm and launch the uninstall wizard. Now, follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation.
  • Once the process is finished, close and restarts your browser for the changes to take effect. You should no longer see the search bar on your Web browser.

From Firefox

  • Here, in the first step, launch Mozilla Firefox application and click the Tools menu located on the top of your browser window. You would get a list of options to choose from in the drop down menu. Now, click Add-ons to launch the add-ons dialog box.
  • Click the Extensions tab. Here, you would see a list of the software installed in your Web browser. Scroll down the list and click the search bar that you want to remove. Search bars are also toolbars, so click a toolbar such as Google or Yahoo! Click Uninstall to remove toolbar.
  • Once the uninstallation of the search bar is finished, close and restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

Hence, after completing these steps you would no longer see the search bar on your Web browser window. For more information, contact Microsoft helpline.
