Configuring Outlook 2007 In Your System

Posted on 03:51 by Unknown
Many a times, we face issues regarding the configuring of Microsoft Outlook 2007 in your system. Although this is a relatively simple process, it may lead you to an irritating situation, if you do not know the procedure. The Outlook help teams provide ample assistance in fixing such issues related to the Outlook email setup, and can be contacted anytime.

However, you can also follow these instructions to configure Microsoft Outlook 2007 on your system before seeking assistance or technical support:

  • In the first step, enable the POP option in your email account. Make sure you click the Save Changes option when you are done.
  • Now, open the Outlook application in your system. Click on the Tools menu, and select Account Settings. Now, on the E-mail tab, click the New option.
  • However, if you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select any of the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, and HTTP options, and select Next.
  • Now, you need to fill in all necessary fields:

Your Name: Here, enter your name, as you would like it to appear in the From: field of outgoing messages.
Email Address: Make sure you enter your full Gmail email address here.
Password: Here, enter your email password.

  • Now, select the Next option. If you are configuring Outlook 2007 automatically, you simply need to click Finish for the Outlook email setup. However, if you are configuring Outlook 2007 manually, select the Internet E-mail option, and click Next.
  • Now, verify your User Information, and enter the following additional information:

Server Information
Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
Logon Information
User Name: Enter your Gmail username.
Password: Enter your email password.
Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Make sure you leave this option unchecked.

  • Once you select the required information, go to the More Settings button, and select the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Now, check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option.
  • Now, click on the Advanced tab, and check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL), which you can find under the Incoming Server (POP3).
  • In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, enter 587, and select TLS. Now, click OK.
  • Select the Test Account Settings. Once you receive the message: Congratulations! All tests completed successfully, click Close.
  • Now, click Next followed by Finish.

Hence, you can configure the Outlook 2007 application in your system by following these steps. For more information, feel free to contact our technical support.
