How To Pick Up Email Remotely From Outlook Using Microsoft Exchange Server

Posted on 02:56 by Unknown
If your organization or company has given you a Microsoft Exchange account, all of your email messages will be stored on the Exchange server. However, you can enable cached Exchange mode in Outlook, which will allow you to pick up your email remotely, even if you do not have an active network connection at the time. When you turn cached Exchange mode on, a full copy of your Exchange mailbox is downloaded to your computer so that you can access it at all times and from all locations. Following are the Outlook email setup instructions that will help you to configure Exchange Server to pickup emails remotely.
Instructions
  • Double click the Microsoft Outlook Express application on your desktop. Enter your username and password to log into your Outlook account.
  • Click on the Toolsmenu that you see on top of the menu bar. Select Email Accounts from the Tools drop down menu.
  • Select the View or change existing email accounts option in the Email Accounts page. Proceed by clicking the Next button.
  • Locate your Microsoft Exchange account from the list of all your email accounts. You will find all your email accounts listed on the left side of the window. Now locate and select the option Change.
  • Choose the option Use Cached Exchange Mode by selecting the checkbox in the Change dialogue box. Press Next to continue.
  • After you are done with this, select the Finishbutton to save the new account settings. Now return to the main Outlook window after saving the new settings.
  • A progress bar will appear in the lower-right corner of the window showing the progress of the download and transfer. Wait until Microsoft Outlook finishes downloading a full copy of the Exchange mailbox. You will have access to the email files and data files even if you are offline. You can read and write the files offline.
The above-mentioned Outlook Email Setup instructions will help you to setup Exchange Server to pick up email remotely from Microsoft Outlook. If you still have problems with configuring this setup, seek assistance from Microsoft Help and Support Center and get your problems solved quickly. Microsoft Outlook help desk has both chat and phone support to provide 24/7 assistance for users who have problems with using Outlook program.
